Red Chrysanthemum
A mind in pain,
as vulnerable as an unwanted freshly planted seed,
whisks broken promises
through windblown petals,
leaving morbid thoughts
to rest upon frail shoulders
like drops of dew on tattered leaves.
While all hope slightly wilts,
hour by hour,
as changing seasons wither
the once blooming blossom;
the once beating heart ceases.
