End the Cycle
Darling, don’t cry;
You don’t have to return to the tears
And end up back where you started again;
You don’t have to walk the trail of emotion
That constantly revisits your cheeks
And sends you back to wandering
Its flooded paths once more.
It’s a water cycle of recycled pain
And recurring memories:
An endless repeating loop,
But you don’t have to go with the flow of hurt
And spiral back into the heartache again
Like clouds filled with condensation do;
Darling, you don’t have to rain anymore.
