House Built of Words
If someone spelled out what to write,
You’d take the concept and play it light.
With little strife, you’d win the fight
And no one would get hurt.
A tingling shove, not a cracking bone.
They scold you if you bite at home.
They stow you in the harm-free zone.
In moments, they’ll move on.
Yet words can pierce like a sharpened sword.
If lips speak the unspeakable word:
“Think!” You feel your mind soar
And race through the page.
Thoughts unearthed from a heart
Sculpted into masterful art
Are able to tear perceptions apart
And build them all at once.
