Bird of the Sea
When the surface rushed to meet me
And I met the world on the flip side,
I greeted an all-new ocean unknown
Coloured with foreign waters and wonders
And a horizon that was a line free of limits
Outstretched beyond my mind’s reaches;
A giant lantern fish’s orb of luminescent light
Shone blindingly above, though mysteriously
Its owner was nowhere to be seen,
And the world rotated and the colours swirled
And I streamlined through weightless currents
With no pause no time to catch my breath then I
CRASHED! -
Through the mirror glass portal
Between the two worlds
Back into my own dimension and I,
I was a flying fish
Who had glimpsed eternity.
