See You Later
We do everything together,
from sun to moon,
day to day.
“Do you have to?” He asked.
“I wish I didn't” I responded.
I stuffed my bags into the trunk.
“I think it's that time, are you ready?” I asked
“No but I don't have a choice”
“We can't sit here all night, so I guess this is a see you later!”
As he stepped out of the car,
hand ungrasping mine,
“I love you!” He cried out,
with not just one tear streaming down his face.
“I love you too!” I responded as he closed the door.
I watched as he walked up the driveway,
He walked to his house as I drove away.
I still felt like he was here, until the next day.
As I knew he was leaving to be 9 hours away,
I could feel the distance becoming greater.
College changes everyone,
but we will be together again someday.
