Armor
I wear my smile like a suit
of armor
But there I am head on
the steering wheel
tears falling like stardust
a surprise?
No, there is no such thing
not in this world.
We are half written poems longing
to escape
this kitchen we're stuck in learning
to make ourselves thankful when we can't forget
That we'll never hold the ocean.
That we're running towards nothing again
and again.
Put on your armor.
Laugh in the rain.
And find nothing more worth your thanks than
simply
being.
