How Can I Be Sure?
How can we be sure?
Of tomorrow or the next day or the next?
The uncertainty of the future taunts us like monsters creeping in the dark.
They tell us we should know what we want to do with our lives,
and yet they tell us how to live them.
How can we be sure?
They tell us it’s okay to make mistakes,
but they don’t want us to waste time or money.
They tell us to pursue our dreams,
But not if they can’t make you money.
How can we be sure?
Some tell us that mistakes are human nature.
Others tell us we should know by now.
Some say we grow up too fast.
Others say we should move out at 18.
