The Life of a Leaf

I am a Leaf
The hot sun beats down on me.
I am green and bright, surrounded by my friends.
I create shade for people sitting below.
The air cools, as winds push us around,
and my colors change: orange, yellow, red.
I am tired of getting pushed around, so I let go.
On a windy day,
I travel beyond the backyard,
higher and higher, caught in the wind.
