My ballet shoes are dirty and old

But they have been with me for many years
No other pair will do
They are stretched out to shape my feet

They were pink when I got them
But now they have a grayish tint
I love my ballet shoes

When I first got my shoes I was ecstatic
Then I found out I was going to have to sew the elastic
I sewed them all by myself so they would fit just right

After every dance class they are thrown into a bag
And will be slipped on the next week for class
Sadly, I will have to retire them in a few short years
For I will be going off to college
