Staring at the ocean

Waves crashing along your feet

Salt blowing in the air

Feet begin to walk in the water

Little splashes hit your skin

Swimming far

No longer touching

Gravity is gone

Let yourself sink underneath

Waves travel over you

Creating motion

A want to come up

Lungs gasping for air

Arms and legs wanting to move

But..

You stay there

Floating helplessly underneath

Staring at the surface

Sunshine hitting it

Gleaming directly in your eyes

Burning

A weight of the mind

Telling you to stay underneath

Quiet in the ocean

Too violent

Giving up

Swimming to the surface

The weight of the water

Lies on you

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece about weight of the world being on your shoulders and how an individual may feel isolated from society and they turn to an object that has no weight but it implies a very deep meaning towards weight hidden behind gravity.
