you struck a match, just to see how long it could last
the flame, you knew, as brilliant as her smile
licked at your hands, she won't let it burn you, anyhow
just a spark next to the light she gives off now.
oh, angel of yours, love with all your heart and all your soul,
warm palm against palm, the window pane of heaven
the touch is our salvation, redemption
oh victory … don't burn believers down
our match as our guide we're heaven-bound
powerful yet weak enough that one mistake could hurt the flame,
so you whisper as it burns, it burns.
who knew something so hot with love could
soothe your soul
as she pulls you close, “you're the one. i adore you”
with the heat of fire there can be no cold
so no need to shiver now … i will burn for you
because our match is, your match is
the flame that keeps us going on.
