We Look At the Same Sky
The sun has set
The moon is out
The stars are too
I look up at this sky
Filled with pinpoints of light
I look up at this sight
And I think of you
Miles away from me
Yet looking at the same sky
I find comfort in that
As I stare at the lights
I remember the good times
I remember the memories
I smile with joy
I laugh with glee
Good times ended
Yet you’re still here
Not physically
Or spiritually
But you are here
On this earth
Miles away from me
Yet looking at the same sky
The same dots of light
The same shooting stars
I make a wish
To see you again
I make a wish
To be with you again
You may not be here
I may not see you again
You may lose interest
I may move on
You may not be here
You may be far away
Miles away from me
But you’ll always look up
And see the sky
For we may be miles apart
But we look at the same sky

I went to another country and made some amazing friends. It killed me to leave them behind, knowing I won't see them for a long time. I draw peace from the fact that the same God watches over us and we can look at the same sky that my God created.
