Monster
I hide behind my mask all night and day
I do this because I don’t know what to say
My mask is cracked and chipped
From feelings that slip and pass through my lips
Very few can see past this wall I’ve made
And when they do, they don’t always stay
The monster that is me, locked behind bars
Is kept away from the world, very very far
So I build my wall
Not too short and just too tall
The monster found a way out
Through the fractures with a shout!
Demanding to be heard and seen
It’s words are vile and unclean
It damages and harms those who try to help
And in the end, that is why the monster fell
Dragging me as well back to it’s barred den
Locked away from everything, its best in the end
