Where I'm From
I am from my family,
from my loving mother and stern father,
my understanding sister and exciting grandparents,
from the saying “family comes first.”
Without family, my head would probably burst.
I am from my experiences,
from baseball on scorching summer days,
fishing on the boat and catching the sun's rays.
from learning of American History in classrooms,
going out hunting and killing my first deer.
These experiences define me,
without them, who knows where I’d be.
I am from my friends,
from nights exploring the forest near my house,
Laughing uncontrollably, as my friend tries on a blouse.
from staying up with the best,
it’s like we hardly rest.
My friends are amazing. They make me who I am.
If I'm ever sad, they’re down to jam.
This is where I am from:
I still am young, so
I can’t wait to see
what is yet to come.
