flowers
Sometimes I think of our family like flowers.
You planted the seed before I was even born..
And when I turned 6 you added a new little seed in our garden of roots.
Better known as my brother.
But you weren’t a flower, and neither was dad.
You were the sun and dad was the sky that held you.
The sun that gave us everything we needed, and the sky that held us all together.
The sun sometimes shined a little too bright and left us to fend for ourselves, but you also taught us that we need water.
Sometimes the sky was full of clouds and we wouldn’t see you or dad for a few days, but we learned,we learned quick.
You have taught us so much,
To take care of ourselves,
To speak up,
To be good people,
All these morals we have, date back to when our seed was planted in the soft soil.
You grew a garden in your mind, sprouted flowers from your love.
Dad let the rain fall, and you gave us the sunshine in the morning,
And ever since then we haven’t stopped growing.
We still have some growing to do,
All of us.
Thankyou.
