Undertow
On the surface the water is nice
To step in and swim would cost you no price
But when you step in, you feel a sharp pull
It comes from the water that seemed gentle and cool
The rippling liquid pulls you down under
Is everything how it appears?
It's this that I wonder

My inspiration for this poem is that things are oftentimes not what they seem. Something that seems harmless and nice, can really be the opposite. My poem compares this idea to an undertow under a seemingly calm body of water.
