A Really Hard Thing Called Speech
A girl is breaking
With no words to speak
Messing up her speech
She cries in the spotlight
She's afraid to speak...She's hit a stoplight
The stoplight shines red
Like the blood rushing to her cheeks
Once again she cannot speak
Her personality quietly dying
She's trying to show
What's going on in her soul
But her soul is a candle burning above a rope
The ropw draws thiner and thiner
Until snap it goes
She tries to conceal The way she really feels
So she doesn't mess up her speech
When she tries to speak...
Dear anyone who will listen
I speak few words
Because of anxiety that whispers
In my ear
Telling me to fear
Fear I'll be rejected
Fear of being ejected from humanity
Like a VHS you are done with
I fear of being thrown down the chute
Of giving up and losing hope
I feel as if I've been sent to decompose
The creaking of my bones
Telling me to loose all hope
This is why I dont speak
Afraid of messing up my speech
