Best Friends Worlds Apart
That’s what we are
Even when we are miles apart
I hate not being able to hug you when you cry
Because you are on the other side
The world is such a big place to face on my own
That’s why I’m glad you will always be there to take me home
We see each other only on screen
But this week it will be real and I will probably scream
And cry and jump with joy
For eight solid months it has been without you by me
Now I can see you again
Before you head off to start all over again
Across the ocean that’s only how far
But to me that’s miles and miles apart
I count down the minuets till you get to my state
Hoping just maybe you won’t stay away
When I first met you we didn’t say hey
But instead we knew we would talk to each other every day
Best friends forever that’s what we are
Even if at times we seem worlds apart.
