Stink Bug.
I found a mound of dust on my bedroom floor
in the form of a creature
rocking back and forth on it’s arched shell back
The little crusted shell held together small grey organs
and a small grey heart and stomach
Things that may spill out of the crack if one were not careful with their footing
Like a seed, the creature was
so i tiptoed around it
and with a soft breath blew it to the side
It flipped over on the hard floor, it’s curled legs now supporting it
And the shell now resembled what it had left behind
Like a platinum suit of armor in a museum, bereft of the fleshy vehicle inside
I decided to get a tissue
but forgot about it
And the little seed is there now
In the corner of my room
A little reminder.
