love me still

Visit me,
when the sun
has become
just a silvery ghost
in the sky.
Love me still,
when the pines
fade and wither
and mimic our skin
and our eyes.
Gather me,
from the ground
when the ground
is a landfill of
rosebuds and frost.
Promise this,
save our petals
in sealed glass
and know
that our love
is not lost.
