Another Day in America
The thumping in my heart,
Ceases for a second,
As I read today’s headlines.
Another shooting.
Hatred.
Another rape.
Violated.
Another bombing.
Obliterated.
Another overdose.
Dead.
When it rains it pours,
It’s hailing.
It won’t stop,
It never stops.
It’s normal now.
The anger,
The rage,
The violence.
Just another headline.
Just another day,
In America.

After reading an article about white supremacy mass murders on Bitch Media, my feelings about the media boiled over into this poem. Enjoy.
