Sun breaks through treetops
The light can’t reach the flowers
Resting on the mossy floor
Tree branches whipping her face
Heartbeat begins to race with each step
Slipping deeper and deeper into the darkness of the trees
Fear leads to mistakes
Man was savior not danger
Waves now pull her deep under
