Snippets of the Seasons
Snippets of the Seasons
The snow starts to fall
upon the ground and the trees.
Snowflakes coat the bench.
The crowd gathers close
trying to keep themselves warm
as the snow falls down.
The buildings stand tall.
Mountains tower over them
in the bright sunlight.
A shovel in hand,
digging into the rich soil
where the flowers grow.
A little bunny
sits on the flower-filled lawn
by the easter eggs.
Two little insects,
a bee and a butterfly,
perched on a flower.
Palm leaves are swaying
to the rhythm of the wind.
The blue sea is calm.
Hands raised to the sky,
as the roller coaster speeds
across the blue tracks.
In the green garden,
the happy dog lifts his head
up to see bubbles.
The sun shines brightly
through the orange leaves in trees.
The white house stands tall.
The sun shines brightly
through the orange leaves in trees.
The white house stands tall.
In the dark forest,
jack-o-lanterns glow brightly
and light up the night.

Alexis has enjoyed traveling since she was eight years old, and she likes to bring back little trinkets from each place she visits. During her last journey, she went to Nigeria and experienced the exotic flavors of all the cultural dishes she ate. After that exhilarating trip, she began learning how to prepare those wonderful cuisines as a way to connect to her roots.
