Haiku is originally a Japanese form of poetry written in three verses in the order 5-7-5 i.e. the first and the last verse has 5 syllables and the second verse has 7 syllables.
But when it transformed into the modern English haiku its specific pattern changed. Now it can be written upto 6 verses. The only rule is that the poet should use simple descriptive words and the poem should convey a whole idea.
