Don't fret little boy
For your tears might sting a bit,
But pain is short-lived.
Don't fret little boy
For you will grow tall and strong,
That is a promise.
Don't fret little boy
For you will learn how to fight,
And you’ll never lose.
Don't fret little boy
For you will become a man,
A woman, your pawn.
Soon the time will come
when your budding flower dies
and your thorns come out.
