The cool winter breeze.

Flowers die and snow plummets

Yet, the sun stays cold

The author's comments:

This poem was written about life, death, and what happens after. The 'winter breeze' mentioned in line one represents death: the inevitable natrual occurance that nothing and no one can prevent forever. The flower represents people. We are small things with a limited lifespan, and we will all eventually pass. The snowfall represents the dirt being thrown over a casket while the deceased person inside rests. The sun is a portrayal of humanity - often the reason that people die in the first place. Humanity as a whole does not care about one death. It is as indifferent to individual lives as the Sun is to the withering of a small flower.
