When you let remorse and bitterness, along with the unwillingness to forgive old accidents or fights and etc, you do become a bitter person. And you build walls that retain you from proceeding with the future. Excellent poem with, as Chris said, a "heartfelt" message. It definitely makes the reader meditate about his/her life and whether or not they have those stored emotions within them.
