Among a Thousand

One wilting daisy
Lost in a field of roses
And yet no one cares.
One solitary
white scar upon the landscape
and yet no one sees
However lovely,
its beauty goes unseen
amidst the roses
One would never think
to marvel upon a white
and lonely beauty
None would think to search
among a field of roses
for one white flower
And when the daisy
dies, none will grieve, because none
have gazed upon it
None would mourn; for who
would miss a daisy among
a thousand roses?
