A Break-Up Haiku for You
I gave you my heart
In origami, essays
Through my margin veins
When history papers
Were not enough love for you
I gave chemistry
Macbeth: too tragic
You preferred the comedies
I was your own joke
You laughed about me
I know that that's the harsh truth
I'm not that in love
Origami veins
Can not cover both my ears
I can hear the lies.
I'm smart to my face
I'm stupid behind my back
My back of paper
I am made of words
In origami flowers
And I'm done with you

I wrote this poem because I think betrayal and two-faced bullying is one of the harshest forms of bullying. When your bully hates you, you know where you stand, but when they are a friend, you can never be sure, and you don't want to trust again. I think some people underestimate how their slyness can hurt others, and I hope this poem teaches someone that their cruelty does not go unnoticed, even if they try to hide it, and that one day, they'll end up very much alone. (This applies not only to friends but to boyfriends/girlfriends. Treat those who love you with respect, and you will be so much happier.)
