Lacrosse

Symmetrical forms
Poised to explode like lightning
For now it’s quiet

Silence broken down
Clawing at each other’s sticks
Possession is won

Thundering down the pitch
Faking right and juking left
The dance has begun

Probing the defense
Moving now towards the cage
Defenses failing

Unseen guardians
Send precise pokes towards him
Contact, the ball’s down

Scrambling for the ball
Trapped in place by the keep
And zipped down the field

Acrobatic jump
Keeps the ball in bounds to play
And is moved once more

Open field ahead
Monstrous men ready to guard
And to crush the weak

Opportunity
An open shot on the cage
No hesitation

The ball hits the mesh
The crowd roars with emotion
And the game plays on

I play a lot of lacrosse, and i thought that haikus would be able to convey the quick and powerful action in the game the best.
