What Ever Happened To Roses Are Red?

Whatever happened to roses are red?
Whatever happened to violets are blue?
Whatever happened to lame poetry
That basically said “I love you”?
Now it’s all complex and emotional
Poetry surely has changed quite a bit
Personally, I don’t like free verse much
I like lame-o rhymes and their fit.
