Isn't it funny how it only takes a few seconds to say hi, but forever to say goodbye?

I put on my make up, pull up my hair.
Throw on my clothes, I really don’t care.
I’ve tried it all, to get you to see me,
I wore jewelry and nail polish, trust me, it’s not easy.
I put on my make up, curl up my hair.
Pick out my clothes, I guess I do care.
I want you to like me, I want you to know,
That all the pain that you gave me, Is something I won’t show.
You can’t see it through these eyes, that can see through your skull.
But in my heart, you make my blood run cold.
You’ve always upset me, with your pain and lies.
You’ve never seen it, through your cold hearted eyes.
I put on my make up, pulled up my hair.
I made up my mind, I really don’t care.

" 'I am happy' that's just the saddest lie..."

"I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence. Fear is such a weak emotion, that's why I despise it..."

This was great! You can easily feel the narrator's struggle with their self-image. I think everyone can relate to this at one point in their lives. Even if we don't want to, it sometimes feels like apart of human nature to care what we look like. Great job!

If you can, please check out my poems. Comments/Rates are always appreciated. Thanks!(=
