the mind of an American Hero

I’ll go ahead/ the hero said
Though I must tread/on the bodies of dead
Rifle in hand/watching bullets as the land
The blood filled rivers/ angry tears shimmers
Her painful scream/ like film it reams
A hero redeemed/a peaceful soul it seems
HERO, MURDER: it’s all the same/ on his tombstone with his name.
