mending the past
the distance between us has become like an all engrossing abyss
why cant we go back to the days where all that mattered was our love for each other which i so dearly miss
the pain that consumes you engulfs me in turn
when it comes to love and life caution is essential-or at least that's what i have learned
i think back to the days where we used to be two peas in a pod and i wonder where things went so wrong
and all i have left to reminisce on is your voice, which was like a deep, seductive song
i used to believe that out relationship was an everlasting thing
who would have thought how much pain and sorrow it would bring
my worst fear is that you wont forgive me for the stupid things that i have done
or ever see that luminous smile that blocks out the sun
I'm hoping sometI'me in the future everything between us might be okay
back to the days where "i love you" were the three words you would never fail to say
i hold in the tears that fills my eyes
and i am on the brink of doing something i never d, i swear i will not cry
but of all the things that i have caused you, pain, remorse, and such
there is one thing that will always be true and that is i love you dad, so very, very much
