The rabbits flee, burrowing under
In escape of a bloody red blunder
Through dirt with no sight
They use whiskers for light
Clawed paws above rumbling like thunder

Listening keenly, a doe and a buck
Inside of the warren away they tuck
Overlooked in low light
Rattled death’s appetite
Between them eight feet with no luck
