I will not forget
the songs we sang in duet.
Or the late night talks
we had going to the lake to skip the rocks.
The sun so low you were simply a silhouette.
I know I will always regret
not stopping you from getting in the car with that brunette.
He sped off away from the docks.
I will not forget.
The police told me I was a key asset,
but how could I describe a man I never met?
I prayed and prayed for Sherlock’s
call, but all the leads ended in roadblocks.
The possibility that you are gone is not my mindset.
I will not forget you.
