The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.

I woke up

The sun’s bright rays came streaming in

On a world

Without my dearest friend.

I miss you

With every aching hour

I have lost my fighting power,

Oh please, come home to me.

I think of you by day

I pray for you by night

And as I write this lonely letter

Please remember that I love you

I love you still the same.

When I lay down

Sad memories come pouring in

Raindrops clink

Like hobnails on the pane.

The tears inside

Are too thick for me to cry,

My eyes are hot and dry.

I miss you all the more.

We know tomorrow

Will be a sunshine day,

Drowning in my sorrow,

This is all I can say:

I think of you by day,

Pray for you by night.

I think of you by day

Pray for you by night.

I miss you.

The heartache will fade, they say.

I love you,

We will survive this day.

How I long

To kiss you, hug you, make you better

To hold you so never, never

Go from me.

Look out the windows, baby,

As the storm clouds break

Ocean-bright and clean,

Blue sky’s here to stay,

Blue sky’s here to stay.

This is a poem I set to a piece of jazz from my Dad's favorite jazz CD.

“The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I guess that means we're just products of whoever made us and we don't have much control. The thing is, when people use that phrase, they ignore the most critical part: the falling. Within the logic of that saying, the apple falls every single time. Not falling isn't an option. So, if the apple has to fall, the most important question in my mind is what happens to it upon hitting the ground? Does it touch down with barely a scratch? Or does it smash on impact? Two vastly different fates. When you think about it, who cares about its proximity to the tree or what type of tree spawned it? What really makes all the difference, then, is how we land.”
― Val Emmich, Dear Evan Hansen

truly astonishing. This work fills me with Felicity as you have put something I understand quite well into words, better than I could have myself. Please keep writing, as ill be reading.

"It Will Be Good." (complicated semi-spiritual emotional story.)

As if an artwork on display

You couldn't find this song, really, unless you found the album called Skyline Sax by Lifescapes. It was just one track (I think it was number 4) on an obscure jazz CD, if you know what I mean. Inspirational flashes are so cool btw!
