Faith is like learning to walk; you have to fall at first, but don't stay down. When in doubt, don't stop believing.

Who would've thought something so beautiful could fade?
Who would've guessed someone as strong as you would cave?
You held on till the end, my dear, kept your head held high,
But when that end came 'round you couldn't hold so tight.
You let go...

Who would've known something even you couldn't see?
My happiness falls with my tears when you aren't here with me.
You loved me till the day you left, and even when you had to go,
Now all the memories I have of you are all I have left.
Why did you go?

You were strong and I saw you as a king,
When you smiled it took care of everything.
You had a way about you, kept me keeping on,
But when you left you forgot to sing our song.
So here's to everything that happened then
And how you showed me right from wrong:
Goodbye.

You already knew someday your time with me would end.
I must confess, I knew it too but couldn't comprehend.
You didn't want me to feel bad for you, you wanted me to laugh,
But when you had to go my smile couldn't last;
But you had to go.

I cried at night, wishing with all my heart it was a dream.
One life to live doesn't seem enough to tell you what you meant to me.
You were gone before I had the chance to tell you one last thing.
If you could only hear right now the words I bring.
Listen close.

You were strong and I saw you as a king,
When you smiled it took care of everything.
You had a way about you, kept me keeping on,
But when you left you forgot to sing our song.
So here's to everything that happened then
And how you showed me right from wrong:
Goodbye.

I never thought I'd have to spend a day without you by my side,
But now I have to say the word that makes me cry:
Goodbye.

I wrote this for my grandfather some years after he passed away from cancer. He seemed unbeatable to me, and somehow he still does.

Nice :) :) :) Check out my poem "YOU'RE NOT GONE" and tell me what  you think. I wrote it for my grandmother and I miss her a lot :(

It is so hard to say goodbye. This song reminds me of how much I miss my mom who died in 2007.
