Turning softly
The music box croons you to sleep
I promise I'll dance here inside
Have sweet dreams so you don't hear me weep

Stare me down
Spinning round
My reflection comes back to haunt me every time i hear that sound

The melody controlling me
My burning tongue longs to sing free
This music box sheds no release
Inhibitions hold me in captivity

When will I sing my own song?

Cage of constellations
Beckon with their incarcerations
I wear a painted smile colored with pretense
Your reality, not mine

I dance and dance at your command
The same routine, helpless in your hands
When the music ends I'm forced silent and
Forgotten like a heart washed away in the sand

When will I sing my own song?

Why must I dance here alone?
May as well be monotone
Got to break free of these chains
Play broken music box play

Play.....
