Can't sleep
Can't dream
It's already hard enough
As it seems
I don't need
You haunting me
In my sleep
So I lie awake
And all the thoughts
I pushed away
All day
Return to me
Keeping the nightmares at bay

But I'd rather have the bad dreams
'Cause at least they're not real
I'm living a nightmare
How does it make you feel

When you're the monster in my closet
The thing under my bed
The reason why I pull
The covers over my head
Why I sleep with the lights on
And my music playing along
'Cause I don't want to hear
The reason I fear
Moving on

I love it! It's very simple yet so deep and true.
