Open Eyes

The darkness surrounds me
I look around and realize
This isn’t who I want to be
Open up my eyes
And see
Alone and by myself
No light to see by
A toy left on the shelf
Crying while it lies
By itself
And though I'm far away
From the troubles of life
I’ve learned from what they say
And even though it’s full of strife
I want to go their way
‘Cause the grass is always greener
Where you’re not
The other side is sweeter
No matter what you’ve got
Misery loves company
But I have none
I have none
