Broken Free
I’ve always stood on the sidelines
Trying to avoid any toes
Going along
With what everyone wants
And hoping that no one would know
I’ve gotten tired of waiting
Hoping they’d all stop for me
Hanging behind
Of what could have been mine
Refusing to stand on my feet
*chorus*
Now I’m back and I am free
But I’m not here to make you see
Just look me in the eye
Tell me it was justified
Then I’ll go on with my life
But this time I’ll live it right
And let no one walk on me
‘Cause now I’ve broken free
Now I’ve broken free
I cannot help second-guessing
I feel like I’m walking on glass
But if it takes this
For me to make it
I just hope that this won’t have to last
I still have some hesitation
This just has never been me
But they scrap the rules
And I end up screwed
Now I need a chance to be free
*chorus*
