Like I'm Not There
I’m tired of watching you fall
You’re so eager to climb high
You always give it you all
But it’s a long drop from the sky
And I guess I’m the same way
And sometimes I fall for it too
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t play
Or claim that we never flew
Chorus:
If it ever seems like I’m not there
It’s just because I’m scared
Don’t ever think it’s because I don’t care
If it seems like I’m not there (x2)
I see it all happen ahead of time
But there’s not much that I can do
And you can tell when I’ve jumped too far
You’re ready when I fall through
Sometimes I don’t know what to say
To make you see you’re still alive
And I know it hurts and the world turns gray
But you pull through and you survive
Chorus
Bridge:
I can’t tell if you’re a bit on edge
When I meet him the first time
I just want to let him know
He’s walking a fine line
You deal with these things quietly
But I don’t hang behind
And if he’s like the last one was
This time he’ll hear my mind
Chorus
