Chances
So here I lay,
Mixed feelings about the next day
Caught in that empty shade of grey
Trying to fit the pieces to the puzzle and make my way
To the next stage of life that’s in the next day
All the trouble I put into these words
Im nearly hittin the verge
Giving up on these stains which aren’t heard
I’ve spent life observing now it’s my time to be observed
But the competition to success already seems so curved
How could a middle class man say something you haven’t already heard
Not even a man, just a boy who’s beginning to understand
The cards which have been dealt and now lay in his hand
Are no different than the ones held by everyone else
I don’t have any greater chance of being seen,
Than the next guy who’s words don’t really mean a thing
And the other whose words may mean everything
