Sapphire
Sapphire,
In her sinking eyes,
So beautiful, so clear.
She holds me close,
The melancholy rain pours down,
And she tells me to never let go.
But I'll have to, when I die.
She says she'll be buried with me.
Sapphire eyes, and all.
Outside judgements,
But we survive it all,
Our love withstands even our faraway future deaths.
Just take my hand,
Our feelings won't be denied,
Time will crumble at our feet,
As will the world.
She holds me close,
The melancholy rain pours down,
And she tells me to never let go.
But I'll have to, when I die.
She says she'll be buried with me,
Sapphire eyes, and all.
She says her prayers,
So we'll be forever.
Yet she doesn't believe,
She says she never will.
I'm hanging on for us both,
From the ground up,
Peeling paint,
And voices from the walls.
Thin fabric mind,
Faith unwinds,
But she's worth the fall,
Sapphire eyes, and all.
She's close to heaven,
Close to me,
And I've never felt so real,
A fake man in a fake world of dreams,
Or nightmares.
She kisses me,
I think I'm not worthy,
She smiles and reassures me,
She says I'm her lover,
And a sparkle in her sapphire eye.
We're together,
But afraid,
Something is always wrong,
Something, something,
But through it all,
We draw closer, every breathing moment.
Every tear she sheds,
A shining water drop I wipe away,
Her heart grows fonder,
My heart grows weary, tired and cautious.
I won't let this angel return home again.
She holds me close,
The melancholy rain passes away,
She's brave enough to let go,
She says we'll be immortal,
Wandering the beautiful seas,
Forever,
Sapphire eyes, and all.
