I want to push you away
But I want to hold you near
Don’t want to see your face
But I miss you being here

And you let me down, boy
But I’m not the only one
I shouldn’t care for you at all
But I can’t turn around and run

Chorus:
I can’t stop hoping
Maybe it will all work out
I can’t stop hating
The way you just gave out
If you move on I know it will hurt
But I’d rather see you succeed
You’re letting too much go
I know, the least of which is me

I know I told you we were cool
And I’ll never tell you that I cried
You’re just like everybody else
But I guess, in the end, at least I tried

Chorus

I wish you cared about you
As much as I do
But there are bigger things in our lives
And this is your last song
After this one I’ll be gone
I won’t keep telling myself lies

Chorus

love the 2 sides to the story! i loved "but i guess, in the end, at least I tried" and the way you were able to write about this person, it being beautiful and well written, and not anything anywhere near cheesy. Because most songs out there about this kind of stuff is cheesy. so thx!!
