Goodbye
Your goodbye was, shall we say peculiar
And I never saw the point until now.
"A cat to catch my tongue" maneuver
Was just to keep yourself from breaking down
Refrain:
You never gave me the chance to say what I should have
To show how I cared and loved you back
But you knew all the same
And I feel like I'm to blame
For never saying goodbye.
I keep on reading that note you gave me
Something 'bout not knowing what you have 'til it's gone
Though through my pain I could see
How special you were, by the ton.
-Refrain-
Oh I want you to know
That I won't let you go
'Til the end of time
and I wanted to say
while I'm crying away...
-Refrain (slowly and quietly)-
