Bad Dreams
You wake from another bad dream,
And the world is not as it seems.
And you try
To put it from your mind
To leave it all behind.
Oh, you try.
And it hangs heavy in the air,
And you can’t hide anywhere.
And you try
To say the words that stung,
Stuck like honey on your tongue.
Oh, you try.
CHORUS:
And you wonder,
“What did I do?
How could I let it all fall through?”
'Cause you never meant to let this one go.
And maybe it would end the same,
Maybe it’s just one big game,
But you wonder how now you’ll never know.
You remember standing barefoot on the floor,
Waiting for someone to push back those doors.
For a moment,
You had something to show,
So eager on your toes.
Oh, moment.
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Then you fly through the air,
And you’re the only one there,
And you know you should be scared,
But you’re okay.
Then you open your eyes,
And it hurts ‘cause you realize
That you never could fly
Away, away.
CHORUS
Oh you wake from another bad dream..
