Calm Before the Storm
Little things getting bigger every day
Taking over like a tidal wave
There’s no rhyme or reason to the choices that we make
Unspoken rules that we break
I’ll keep my promises if you remember my name
And that…
There’s a calm before the storm
A soldiers last breath before they go to war
There seems to be so much animosity
Why can’t we be like the eye of the hurricane
Homeless man carries a sign
It reads please, oh please won’t you spare a dime
But it don’t matter if he’s black or white
All we can manage to do is look the other way
We forget that…
There’s a calm before the storm
A soldiers last breath before they go to war
There seems to be so much animosity
Why can’t we be like the eye of the hurricane
(instrumental)
So busy looking at our watches
We’re tripping over time
If we just slowed down a little
Looked into each others eyes
(instrumental)
Let the rain fall down (2-4)
Maybe someday there’ll be…
A calm before the storm
A soldiers last breath before they go to war
Not so much animosity
We could be like the eye of the hurricane
