Wings
I'm off on a trip to outer space,
The radar blips, I'm a flying ace,
And my wings they spread out far an' far and wide,
The cause of my joy is simple enough,
My days go by, ain't got it tough,
And up and up and up and up I flied,
'Cause my wings, they take me through the sky,
I love it but don't ask why I don't come down to earth
It's cause I got little worth
on the ground, to all those people,
there,
but when I'm up in the air,
I feel my wings spread wide.
My flying trip to outer space
ends quick like a skating race
all gliding down the ice to the end of the line,
No radar here, just empty air,
the wings they come out gold and fair,
and I fly away into the empty sky.
'Cause my wings, they take me through the sky,
I love it but don't ask why I don't come down to earth
It's 'cause I got little worth
on the ground, to all those people there,
but when I'm up in the air,
I feel the sunset tide.
So today I wanna go
Away
Somewhere I can call my own
Away
Somewhere where my wings can spread
Where the sounds of earth fall dead
Away
away
away
away
away
'Cause my wings, they take me through the sky,
I love it but don't ask why I don't come down to earth
It's 'cause I got little worth
on the ground, to all those people there,
But when I'm in the air,
The sunset colored wings,
They, glide.
